How we cook Laksa.. Success!

Ingredients: - Singapore Laksa packet - 300grams of prawns - Fish cake - Bean sprouts - 2 hard-boiled eggs - Tau Kua (Beancurd) - 300ml of coconut milk - 250ml of prawn stock 1. Boil the prawns. Take out the prawns when it's cooked and keep the prawn stock for later use. 2. Prepare coconut milk with the coconut milk powder. We could only find packet of coconut milk powder here so need to prepare the coconut milk ourselves lo. 3. In a pot, add some oil and fry with the Singapore Laksa packet paste for about 3 mins. 4. Add the coconut milk and the prawn stock. Got some Laksa feel already. 5. Add bean sprouts, tau kua, fish cake and egg. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 mins. Then, add in the prawns. We couldn't find tau pok here, so used tau kua as substitute. 6. Pour the Laksa stock over the noodles and it's done! We used spaghetti...

Chicken Rice by me!

Heh heh.. I searched online for chicken rice recipe, almost all the recipes state that they use whole chicken without removing the skin, and use salt to rub the chicken skin before cooking to remove any residual dirt or chicken hair, and it will also make the skin smooth and tender. For me, I definitely dun know how to handle one whole chicken and I am especially disgusted by chicken skin that has some chicken hair sticking out, so I bought chicken thigh meat that already had their skin removed. Easier for me la hor.. Preparation for the chicken and chicken soup Rub salt on the chicken Boil 700 grams of chicken for 10 mins. Simmer for 30 minutes. Take out the chicken and add in one whole onion and some carrots. Add salt to taste. Boil for 10 mins then simmer for 45 mins. At the last 10 mins of simmering the soup, I added some meat dumplings and crab stick. Put the chicken in cold water for 15 mins. Preparation for the rice The recipe on the packet states that one packet is f...

Easy recipe: Tuna Melt

Being in Italy forces me to make my own lunch everyday. There's no hawker center here where I can easily buy cheap food for my lunch. I am a super lousy and lazy cook, I can actually just eat instant noodles everyday but I dun wanna eat unhealthy food so frequent. So I find easy recipes on internet and 'improvise' them. Ingredients for Tuna Melt (1 portion): - 1 can of tuna (I used the small can (80g) tuna-in-water. There're many different types of canned tuna in the market, so it depends on what kind of canned tuna you like) - some chopped onions (the amount depends on individual preference) - 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise (you may increase or decrease the amount depend on individual preference) - one piece of cheese - lettuce - tomato Step 1: Open the tuna can and remove the water in it. Step 2: Chop the onions Step 3: Mixed the tuna, onions and mayonnaise together Step 4: Place a piece of cheese on a slice of bread, then spread the mixed ...

Bin & Jia Burger

We decided to make burgers for our dinner tonight. Just very simple ingredients but filling and yummy meal.. - Ready made burger bread; - Frozen burger meat patty; - Lettuce; - Tomatoes; - Eggs; - Mushrooms - Kraft cheese; - Tartar sauce (optional) 1. Cut the burger bread into half horizontally. Our cutting skills wasn't that great and we ended up spoiling a burger bread. Lucky we got extra burger bread. Heehee. 2. Pan fry the meat patty. While my hubby was frying the meat patty, I put the burger bread in the microwave for 1 minute on low heat to warm the bread a little. 3. Okay, start stacking the burger now! First layer, I put some lettuce. Then, the fried meat patty. Third layer, a slice of cheese. 4. Then, waiting for my hubby to stir fry some mushrooms and it's done in like 5 minutes. Opps! He said he forgot to put salt and pepper to taste. Okay, never mind. Anyway, spread the mushrooms on the cheese layer. 5. Then, me waiting again for my hubby to fry t...
