USA (Part 1) - Salt Lake City

The first stop of our USA trip is Salt Lake City . It's not the usual place that a tourist would go and many probably did not hear of this place before. We were there because my boyfriend was there for a conference and I am meeting him there to start our trip. Even though it's just a small peaceful town, we loved this place. It was a nice sub-urban town, peaceful, tranquil, quiet, not touristy, and with some views of mountains around the town. Houses at Salt Lake City Mountain views as we drove Very big and well-organised supermarket We can across an interesting ice cream shop when we were at Salt Lake City. It's Nitro Freeze ! They used liquid nitrogen to turn the liquid into ice cream! Transformation in process.. Full of mist.. So Cool! Ta-da! Strawberry flavoured nitro freeze! By the way, this was the small cup, the portion was so big that both of us couldn't finish it -.- Maybe we're just lousy. I was at Salt Lake City for 2 days...

Cameron Highlands

We wanted to go for a short 3 days 2 nights trip to a place that's cooling, not too expensive and near Singapore (since we only have a weekend to travel). Genting Highlands? Nah, went so many times already and we dun like casinos! So the next choice would be another Highlands in our neighbouring country, Cameron Highlands, since both of us have never been there. We took a coach to Cameron Highlands and it was really cold when we arrived. We explored the surroundings of our hotel by foot for a while and realised that it's quite impossible to get around and really toured Cameron Highlands without a car. Hence, we signed up three tours. One is the general day tour that brings you around Cameron and includes a dinner, a sun-rise tour and a tour which brings us to tea plantation. We followed the tours and visited strawberry farm, vegetables farm, flower farm and tea plantation. It's unavoidable to step on some mud and it's even worse if it rains. At these farms, you ...

Our first application..

My boyfriend suggested that we should start looking for a BTO (Build-to-order) that we liked since we will have to wait for like 3 years before it will be ready.. HDB launched Compassvale Ancilla in March 2011. It was just beside Buangkok Mrt and we loved that location. I wanted to find a house that is near MRT station so I don't have to change from LRT or walk like 15 or even 20 minutes to get to the station. Yes, we foresee that we might not have the ability to buy a car in future which is very possible. So, we applied for Compassvale Ancilla.. Keeping our fingers crossed.. Hope we will get it..

The Land of Smiles~

After taking a 2 hours flight on a budget airline, we reached Bangkok . Highlight of this trip? Shopping, massage and pamper ourselves! We had massage almost everyday. You can find massage parlor on every street in Bangkok. Massage service at Bangkok is super duper cheap, I would feel sorry for myself if I didn't do it everyday. Er.. Of course, we chose those 'clean' massage parlors. Other than massage, hair treatment, manicure and pedicure are also very cheap. You can pamper yourselves like a princess when you are in Bangkok. One of the famous attraction we went was the Four-Faced Buddha. You seldom see a Buddha statue right in the middle of the city center and in front of a hotel, but that's exactly where this Four-Faced Buddha is. Heard it was quite efficacious and hence, we went to pray. There was a huge crowd there and you can imagine how popular it is. My first time at Bangkok - Fish therapy. I think I screamed throughout the whole therapy, it just felt f...

Taiwan - Taipei and Hualien

Taiwan is really a place where I would return, with all the good and cheap food,  nice scenery, cooling weather (when we went) and lots of entertainment. It's also a shopping heaven for ladies. You will be able to get fashionable clothes, shoes, accessories, facial masks and products at cheap price. The first thing the girls wanted to do was to dye, style and give our hair a good treatment. We did our hair at Taipei , a salon called "Let's Hair" . And we were all very happy with the final result! After we were done with our hair, we took a train to Hualien that evening and stayed at a 民宿 (homestay), 石头的家 (Stone House) . The host was very friendly and we loved the place. We booked a room for 7 people and it was really spacious.   The host told us that we could light fireworks at Stone House and brought us to buy some fireworks and sparks. We had a great time playing, but we did something stupid. We played the sparks in an enclosed room because the wind was t...
